California Inland Fisheries Foundation, Inc., (CIFFI), is a volunteer operated, tax deductible 501 C3 non-profit foundation, incorporated in the State of California, dedicated to the enhancement of freshwater angling opportunities. The cooperative efforts between CIFFI and the California Department of Fish and Game, and many partners, provide necessary funding to sustain multiple species of fish in California’s lakes and reservoirs. Founded in 1992, CIFFI is a success story in cooperative fishery management, beginning with Project Kokanee, and now providing assistance to many other projects.

FATHER'S DAY ON THE GREEN PICNIC

California Inland Fisheries Foundation will be holding its annual Fundraising event, formally the annual dinner, on Sunday, June 17th at Micke Grove Park just outside of Lodi at the "Delta" picnic area. This event has been dubbed "Father's Day on the Green". [Sign up HERE]
This event will be a total family affair with fun things for the kids, like a bounce house, face painting, clowns, and more. Other activities will include casting contests for all ages, LIVE MUSIC "Kiss N' Tell" featuring Ericka Davis (70s, 80s, & 90s music), Great food catered by Silver Sage Catering, Beer & Wine, HUGE Raffle, FREE Kids raffle... and SOOOOO much more.
Mark your calendar now and plan on spending the day at the park with family, friends, food and fun. The event will be held from 11 am to 4 pm.
Tickets for adults are only $25 for chicken or ribs with all the fix'ins and kids 11 and under are only $5 for hotdog, chips and a drink.

Successful 2012 Pardee Lake Derby

Great weather provided the perfect day for the 20th Annual Pardee Lake Derby. Over 100 participants enjoyed good fun, good food, and good fishing with friends. CIFFI Donates to DFG Canine Unit
May 16, 2012 – Sacramento – CIFFI hosted its quarterly membership blast, where invited guests – DFG Director Chuck Bonham, DFG Chief Nancy Foley, DFG Warden Brian Boyd – his canine Phebe and DFG Lt. Christy Wurster – and her canine Wrigley – were on hand to receive a $2000 donation to support the canine unit.
Director Bonham entertained questions from the membership covering diverse topics such as salmon recovery to deer herd management. The give and take session was entertaining, as well as informative as the challenges across the board were covered. Chief Foley was on hand to talk specifically about the success of the canine units and their importance as a force multiplier that is used for all aspects to wildlife law enforcement. Specifically, Chief Foley spoke to success of the canines and their ability to inspect watercraft for invasive mussel infestations. “It takes them minutes to clear a boat”, said Foley, “Where a human must take longer due to the visual inspection requirements.” Wardens Boyd and Wurster introduced their canine partners and explained basic training techniques and successes they experienced in their law enforcement duties.
Garry Erck – CIFFI President, on behalf of CIFFI membership, sponsors and supporters presented a $2000 check to Chief Foley, thanking her department for its hard work and efforts in maintaining California’s thin green line.
All guests enjoyed a taco feed and gigantic raffle.
Funds generated by CIFFI’s derbies go directly to fund the improvement of fisheries and educational endeavors throughout California. Since 1992, CIFFI - Project Kokanee - has partnered with the California Department of Fish and Game to fund the continued planting of kokanee salmon, installation of rearing pens and support of fisheries in California’s lakes. The 2012 CIFFI Derby Applications are now available! We are excited to offer you the ability to enter any or all of the derbies ON-LINE as well as downloading the printable version. Our four derbies will take place at Collins Lake, Lake Pardee, Lake Oroville and Lake Berryessa.

If you prefer to download the printable version and mail it in, go to the Events Calendar and click on the derby of your choice... then click on the link. Derby applications will also be available at the CIFFI booth at the Sacramento ISE Show from Jan. 19th thru Jan. 22nd.
Remember kids under 16 years of age can enter for FREE...as long as there is a paid adult.. limit two kids per adult. AND...don't forget there is a FREE KIDS RAFFLE, a General Raffle and a FREE BBQ lunch for ALL participants.

2012 PELT 4th of July Fundraiser
June 30th !!.. Celebrate July 4th in beautiful Eagle Lake with the Annual TRADITIONAL JULY 4th CELEBRATION. The event is held at the Eagle Lake RV Park & Store.
Activities for the entire family... Horseshoe Tourney, Casting Contests, FREE KIDS RAFFLE for 3 to 12 years of age, GIANT RAFFLE with GREAT PRIZES. Seminars from Eagle Lake's Top Fishing Guides. BBQ Hamburgers and Hotdogs will be available for a nominal fee. The day's events begin at 9:30am.

On Thursday December 11, 2008, the final two pens were delivered to Markley Cove at Lake Berryessa. Thanks to volunteers Sunny Lampe, Dallas Freeman, Larry Goodell, Don Nevis, Troy Barr and Jason Tidwell (JT) all went well. The four pens are now in position, waiting for a “move-in” date to be established by Markley Cove. A major group of volunteers will get the pens to the pen area at the end of the docks then put them into the water. When ready, DFG will fill them with trout. Watch for more updates!
